Align Behavioral Sleep

Meet the Founder –

For over a decade, I’ve built my career around one purpose: helping children thrive and giving families the tools to support them. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Certified Early Start Denver Model Therapist, and Certified Behavioral Sleep Practitioner, everything I do is rooted in science but driven by heart.

Becoming a mother deepened my understanding of what families are really navigating. Sleep isn’t just rest – it shapes how children learn, regulate their emotions, and grow. And when sleep falls apart, it can unravel everything else.

I founded Align Behavioral Sleep because I believe families deserve more than generic sleep advice. You deserve individualized, evidence-based support that meets you where you are and helps your whole family finally rest.

Sometimes the hardest part of bedtime isn’t bedtim Sometimes the hardest part of bedtime isn’t bedtime itself.

It’s everything that comes before it.

The anticipation.
The second-guessing.
The exhaustion from knowing you’re about to do it all again.

And when sleep has been difficult for a while, it’s easy to start wondering if you just need to be more consistent, try a different routine, or work a little harder.

But sleep struggles aren’t always about trying harder.

Sometimes, the more helpful question is:

“What is making sleep hard for my child?”

Development, communication, sensory needs, regulation, behavior, routines, and sleep patterns can all play a role.

Understanding what’s underneath the struggle can change the way we approach it.

You don’t have to have all the answers tonight.
Start with curiosity.

The right support matters. When it comes to your The right support matters.

When it comes to your child’s sleep, experience matters. But so does specialized training.

As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Certified Behavioral Sleep Practitioner (CBSP), I bring together behavioral science, sleep science, and a deep understanding of child development to look at the whole picture.

Because sleep challenges don’t happen in isolation. And what works for one child may not be the right fit for another.

My goal is to provide support that is evidence-based, individualized, and realistic for your family.

Because better sleep isn’t about following a generic checklist.

It starts with understanding your child.

When sleep suddenly feels different, it may be tim When sleep suddenly feels different, it may be time to look at what’s changed.

Sleep needs evolve as children grow, and what worked before may not fit anymore. Changes in nap needs, bedtime timing, daily routines, activity levels, or developmental needs can all affect sleep.

Sometimes, the first step toward better sleep is simply understanding what your child needs now.

There’s no such thing as a “perfect” bedtime routi There’s no such thing as a “perfect” bedtime routine.

The routine that works beautifully for one child may feel completely overwhelming or simply not work for another.

Sleep support should consider the whole child: their development, sensory needs, communication, environment, sleep patterns, and the realities of family life.

So if your bedtime routine doesn’t look like the ones you see online, that doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. It may just mean your child needs something different.

Because better sleep doesn’t have to mean changing who your child is. ⏾
Back-to-school is fast approaching, and if summer Back-to-school is fast approaching, and if summer has shifted your child’s sleep schedule, now is the time to start preparing. 🌙📚✏️

You don’t need to overhaul your child’s sleep overnight. A gradual, individualized approach can make the transition much smoother.

Here are 5 things you can do now:

1. Understand your child’s sleep needs.
Before changing bedtime, take a look at your child’s current sleep schedule. How much sleep do they typically need? What is the recommended sleep total for your child’s age? When do they naturally fall asleep and wake? Start with your child, not a one-size-fits-all schedule. —> DM for research-supported, suggested sleep ranges.

2. Gradually adjust bedtime.
If bedtime has drifted later over the summer, start moving it earlier gradually rather than making a big change all at once.

3. Establish a consistent wake-up time.
The morning can be an important anchor for your child’s sleep-wake rhythm. Begin moving toward their school-day wake time before the first day of school.

4. Create a predictable bedtime routine.
A familiar, consistent sequence of activities can help your child recognize that bedtime is approaching and make the transition into sleep more predictable.

5. Practice the school-day routine before school starts.
Wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast, and start the morning at approximately the same time you will on school days. The goal is to make the first week feel familiar, not like a complete reset.

The goal isn’t a perfect schedule.
The goal is sleep that supports your child and your family’s real life.

Save this for your back-to-school sleep reset and share it with a parent who may need it!
